NTPC Syllabus for CBT 1 Exam 2024
The RRB NTPC Syllabus 2024 for the first stage of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) is a comprehensive examination designed to assess candidates for various Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) posts. This stage of the CBT is common for all the positions notified under CEN 01/2019, and the test consists of three major sections: General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Structure of the First Stage CBT 1 Exam
The duration of the exam is set to be 90 minutes, during which candidates need to answer a total of 100 questions, each worth 1 mark. The questions are divided among the three sections as follows:
- General Awareness: 40 questions
- Mathematics: 30 questions
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: 30 questions
For candidates who are eligible under the PwBD category and are accompanied by a scribe, the duration is extended to 120 minutes.
The exam will also have negative markings, where 1/3rd of a mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The first stage of CBT is primarily a screening test, and the difficulty level of the questions will match the educational qualifications required for the posts. The scores obtained in the first stage of CBT will be normalized and used for shortlisting candidates for the second stage.

NTPC 2024-25 Minimum Eligibility Criteria
The minimum percentage of marks required to qualify in various categories are as follows as below –
- Unreserved (UR): 40%
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 40%
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 30%
- SC (Scheduled Caste): 30%
- ST (Scheduled Tribe): 25%
